I'm looking to adopt a sulcata tortoise (mainly an adult male or female or juvenile) in the SoCal are mainly in the Los Angeles area. I live in littlerock CA by palmdale and have 3 acres of land. I am not looking to buy please let me know if you have one that needs to be rehome.

Probably worth a try:
I occasionally post a wanted ad in my local CRAIGSLIST for unwanted and or sick Redfoot tortoises. Redfoot are pretty common in south Florida, but about 1/3 of the people that reach out to me are looking for homes for a Sulcata.
Many people get in WAY OVER THEIR HEADS with a Sulcata. It might be worth a shot to post a free wanted advertisement

Hi @ire.ne13 sorry I was away and didn’t see this. there are a TON of sulcata rescues available in the LA area though the CA turtle and tortoise club. You can google it. There are also several tortoise rescues that are more (or less) legit in the area, and as noted Craigslist often has a zillion. rarely will the be free, but you can get for an adoption fee…
