Lost brumating Ibera! Update!

My wayfare Ibera, Barney, that I couldn't find to save my life last fall has woken up and decided to greet me in his pen last week!

After I determined I wouldn't find him I covered the entire pen with 10 inches of straw. It was a cold winter with many days below zero.

He didn't lose much weight and is looking for the girls!

Which just goes to show that brumation is something they can do perfectly well on their own... even if we do have heart failure in the meantime!
