okay so put a break with a thermos thermometer on it to simulate the tortoise is back and that should be a hundred and ten hundred fifteen that makes sense now.
A quick question I've had the tortoise now for a little over a week should I be worried that it hasn't eaten how long do I need to go before I need to worry

An 8" sulcata should have eaten the first day, if all was good. Worry is reasonable at this time.

Ok so I didn't find a 18 gallon so I got this one but it won't fit in the box so it's ok just to sit her in it an try to add water to keep the temp up .an here is a rock I found

Do you think it would be better to put the new heater in the temporary box I think it'll fit just fine
