Does anyone know what the cause is for Hotcake's shell to have a small growth / uneven raised piece on his shell? I have been watching it for a few months. It isn't going away! Any advice , and/or care instructions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Alena

I don't know the cause, but I might be tempted to dremel it away in order to avoid weird shell-growth.

I'd offer it is not anything to worry about for a specific vet visit. Your tortoise is growing and based on the pattern of growth as seen in the images you posted, I'd suggest it's doing well. If at some point you have some other reason to take your tortoise to a vet, then it would be a good question.
