That is really neat, especially on a tort vs a turtle.

Here is a pix of a slider that I took earlier this Summer doing exactly what Yvonne said....very normal for turtles..

I see my redfoots basking for a lengthy period in the shaft of direct sunlight they get between 11am and 1 pm in their outdoor enclosure.

Our RES does this, RV did when little... Now she just plunks on a sunny nob and basks (when she isn't stomping the yard)

Maybe he ate so much his plastron is distended and his little legs can't reach the floor. Yvonne's Cafe is open for business.
I have similar problems when I eat too much I have trouble tying my shoes.
