Yay so we made a vet appointment for our little Scooby Doo eye. It got better if you guys kept on my old post and then it went back to normal and only opened in the sun and when he takes a bath so we said its time to take him in. What is your guys opinion on VCA hospitals?

Unfortunately, I have not had good experiences with VCA. There is one right near me that is open 24/7, and I have had to use them for emergencies at times, so I'm very thankful they are open and available when I need them, but for regular care I use a different vet.

Is this a tortoise you are taking?

If is a tortoise, I would be extremely careful who I took them to. I drove an hour to see Dr. Greek today in Yorba Linda.

Does this VCA have a DVM that treats Reptiles/ Exotics? Even if the answer is yes, I would be careful.

Where do you live?

Haha no its not a dog. Its a deaert tortoise. They said the vet specialist in desert torts. I hope so . Im sad to hear its not the best. But I live in Ontario California.

I live near Ontario. I have a a 24 hour one within 5 minutes of me, but I still drive to Yorba Linda.

I would ask for their references/experience...then I would just be cautious and also don't just let them do what they want without it being true....your tort depends on you to be so.

What is the torts eye doing? What have you done?

Ontario is 15 minutes from me. I just hope this guy know's tortoises, medically.
I have never heard of a " CDT" specialist.
I have had good experiences with my dogs at a VCA.
I would go to Yorba Linda.

I know my baby got the best care, seeing Dr. Greek, yesterday. There is nothing to question. That's just what I need.

I'm sure it will work out, but use a great deal of caution, always.

Yes we changed the bulb and I he has both eyes opened just not all the time just during baths and when he is sun bathing so I dont know. Well I can call the other place if anyone knows the name of It?

I actually found it and will call them first thing in the morning. I just hope they can get me in Saturday. If they cant then I will have to go to the VCA vet. Saturday is the only time we can take him since me and my boyfriend go to work and college

He is going to be the guest speaker at my turtle club in 2 weeks. the CTTC Chino Valley Chapter. Maybe you should come to that. You'd already have seen him by then but you could follow up with him

That would be cool haha but they dont have anything for Saturday. . Nd saturday is our only time. But im going to talk to my boyfriend and figure out something. What about terra vista ?

She was recommended to me at the CTTC Chino meeting, along with Dr. Greek.
