So my smaller and 7 month younger Leopard mounted my obviously male older tort today. This confirms that Rudy is in fact male correct? Here is a poc of Rudy's underside...

Looks male to me. So if looks male AND is mounting, then I think you have a another male on your hands

it is still too small for me to positively ID that as male or female.

For the record I have known female tortoises (Russians) to mount so it isn't always a "breeding thing"

Yes, too young to really say. Also, females will sometimes mount too. Sorry, your still going to have to wait for a confirmation on sex:(

Mounting doesn't mean male. My females will mount my male occasionally, probably in an effort to chase him out of their territory. You have a while to wait because they will need to get much larger and older before puberty hits them.

Actually I believe it's the other way around. I see more being males then females.

Ok thanks everybody. It was such a loud/manly hump session so I figured male, but it makes sense that they mount when female as well. Just like female dogs do to dominate others.

That's what I thought, too.

Eh, either way each of mine have a 50/50 chance of being a boy or girl! :p lol
