They are all very mature, we think all are at least 100 years old. We see new growth lines, they just seem to blend in very well and smooth. Mating does wear the female shells down some.

Wow... Just. Wow. I'm mean and hateful, I don't like the thought of someone else having my beloved tortoise after I'm dead. I just don't think anyone could care for him like I do. I only hope. And I don't plan on having any kids either so I don't know where he would go...

I remember reading years ago that an aldabra was documented to being 255 years old. Imagine that!
