I don't only feed like this very rare I put just mazuri and romaine. But I was curious would feeding just mazuri and romaine be so bad wouldn't the nutrition in the mazuri make up for what lacks in the romaine?

Remember I don't feed like this I was just wonder if it could counterbalance the nutrition romaine doesn't have?

Good Question :D. Possibly, however in the wild I would venture to guess they eat a wide variety of things. But then we usually feed our dogs and cats the same food, why not our torts? I guess if the Mazuri had everything they needed, like a good dog food has for dogs, then why not? On the other hand, most dogs and or cats get runny stools or vomiting when food is changed too quickly, so we stick with one, where torts probably don't. So my opinion would be yes we could, but we don't have too:p. because too easy and cheap to give a bigger variety:D

In my opinion, even if you trust in Mazuri and even if it is a "complete" diet, I think you still need the variety of greens and other fruits and veggies (depending on species needs). My reasoning is simple, what your tortoise eats is not only important food value wise, but other physical and mental needs need to be met. For example, they need to rip and tear food in my opinion to work muscles, help with beak wear and to stimulate their minds and give them mental enrichment. Plus to me it's like the fact we can give them manmade sunlight, but nothing beats the natural way of using the real sun.

I don't only feed romaIn. I said I very rarely feed only romain. I was just curious to wether it could work like that though I would never only feed that.

I think in theory a tortoise raised on this diet would be fine. I wouldn't do it that way either though.

Don't use Mazuri (my torts don't care for it, apparently), but do feed 'em Marion Red Sticks.

But NEVER Marion by itself, ALWAYS soaked and well mixed w/ either soaked dried weeds/green veggies or chopped up cactus pads (inside, for winter), or soaked and mixed with chopped fresk greens and/or chopped cactus pads (outside, for warm weather).

And I grow weeds in their outdoor enclosure, so they can graze at will during the warm season.

Skeptical that either "tortoise kibble" is TRULY a complete diet...where's the "roughage"?

Din-din...tonight on the menu is Marion Red Sticks, mixed w/ dried prickly lettuce, clover, "pig thistle" and dandelion leaves, all soaked and mixed to (their idea of) perfection!.
