This may sound strange, but I have a healthy cherry head tortoise hatchling (about 4 or 5 months old) and am wanting to get another tortoise of a DIFFERENT BREED. I wanted to know about placing two breeds I'm the same enclosure. The next tortoise I want is the Geochelone pardalis babcocki (Leopard Tortoise). Feedback please.

Never should be done. Different care sheets, diets, and diseases, pathogens, etc, etc.

FYI - The "Help and Feedback" subforum is for off-topic questions relating to the use of TFO - not for questions about tortoise care.

Simply put...Please house your next species (not breed) separately.
It's a win win all around. The Redfoot is happy, the Leopard would be happy and you'll be happy having 2 ;)

If you want more detailed reasons for housing them separately, a little reading and you'll be overwhelmed with the info.

We have talked about this an awful lot. If you put "mixing species" in the search box, you can read the many threads and differing opinions on this subject.
