We do need a better photo of the tortoise than that, looks like it's possibly a Marginated Tortoise (Testudo marginata).

I try to post AFTER Danny so I won't get plowed under because I've given the wrong answer, however, I'm 99.9% sure that this is a young sulcata tortoise! (cringe, cringe...hiding behind right shoulder!)

Yvonne

If it is a sulcata, its too young to know the sex yet. Also, the beak is slightly overgrown, but not too bad yet.

Should have waited Yvonne :p A plastron picture would clinch it, but I agree with Chris. :D It looks like a Marginated tortoise to me also. :)

I'm not up on my grassland tortoises, but I would not have said that was a 'young' anything- those gulars are awfully thick and the face looks like its been around the block a few times. Plastron photos please, and some idea of how big it is.

I bow to the master!! :p All I noticed was the large spurs on the front legs. That said to me, "Sulcata!" Sorry Kymiie!
