My light in the vivarium is at angle and not directly pointing down so it heats up the whole thing. How do I fix this?

Mount it from directly over head. Hang it from the ceiling or install a fixture on the ceiling.
The bulb being at an angle does not cause the whole thing to heat up. That has to do with the wattage and amount of ventilation.

Make some sort of light stand and hang the light/fixture. Here are some examples:
