My russian tortoise that I got a month ago has developed a new habit of biting. I've thought before that he's just hungry and I have juice residue on my fingers, but he chooses my finger easily over food. When I put my finger in front of him, he opens wide and I shove some kale in the hole, it's apparent he's hungry. Help?

Me, I'd stop putting my fingers in his face. Just saying…I've got a regular pile of Russian tortoise, but I never give them a chance to open a mouth while my finger is near the head.

If he is hungry all the time maybe you aren't feeding him enough? Or maybe your finger just looks like a carrot haha :) Tortoises don't see the same as humans so a finger to us might look like a meal to them :)
