Last Friday I moved my leopard tortoise (she weighs 2.015 kg) into a bigger vivarium, and since then she’s been acting a bit strange and I’m worried.
Basically, I bought two enclosures, cut the end parts, and joined them together. She’s definitely walking around more, but her appetite isn’t what it used to be. I’ve also started to notice a whistling noise when she breathes. There’s nothing coming out of her nostrils—no bubbles or mucus—but I have this feeling I might be doing something wrong.
She keeps sleeping on the hot side of the enclosure, even when the cooler side is around 81–83.5°F humidity always on 80% sometimes a bit more than 80%day and night. Do you think that’s because I’m not providing a proper hide, or because she’s stressed/scared from the vivarium change?

Any advice would really mean a lot. Thanks 🙏

Tortoises in general do not like changes in their habitat/enclosure and act differently after experiencing one. In some cases this can last for several weeks before the tortoise becomes accustomed to its new surroundings.

Decreased appetite is a sign of the tortoise not feeling "at home" yet. It will likely pass in a few days.

The whistling noise may just be from heavier breathing than usual due to the stress of the new environment. I wouldn't worry about it for at least a week or so.
