I have a sulcata tortoise whos about 1/2 year old. His temps are 85 at night and about 70 during the day. I also soak him pretty often in warm water. I usually feed him romaine lettuce but have started to get him on some grass. He usually has a big appetite and eats plenty. but now he turns away from the food or activley avoids it when i put it in front of him. hes also been pretty bored and stays a lot longer in the water then he usually does. So, my point is can someone tell me if theres something wrong? its getting cold here and hes eating less, staying in the water longer and bored. some advice and tips would be greatly apreciated!

Why is it so warm during the day, and so cool at night? That's odd.

Temps should not drop below 80. The cooling temps of the oncoming winter should have little to do with your indoor enclosure. Your enclosure temps should be watched and adjusted to keep your tortoise warm all year.

Here is how they ought to be housed, lit and heated. See what is different about your set up and we can hopefully solve your problem.
