Meet Stilleto, the new rescue russian tort here.
I saw a courtesy post by house.of.pancakes on behalf of Animabilia pet store in New York, and @SinLA post
She was surrender by a mother who's son went off to the army. She's in pretty rough shape. Nails curved into her foot pads, not able to walk properly contributing to her being morbidly obese along with diet.
Her beak was overgrown too, coining her the name Stilleto. I don't falt the mother, as she was doing the best she knew how, and ultimately making the right decision to surrender her.
I reached out to the store owner Mark, showed him my enclosures, gave vet references, and after a conversation over the phone she was in route.
Upon arrival I allowed her to get settled in before getting some work done. Her beak was trimmed to the point where she will be able to wear it down herself on rough surfaces.
Her nails where cut to her quick, as she walks around, and the quick retreats more, a little more will be cut.
We didn't want to stress her as she just arrived. She's going to be on a proper diet and will soon be outside this spring.Looking forward to sharing her journey and updates to come.
