Hello, tortoise owners! Daisy laid another egg couple days ago (1-30-16). She laid one egg this time. Last summer, she laid two eggs, but they did not make it due to my lack of experience. This time, I bought an incubator! I bought the Hover-bator.

I know that the picture shows 85% humidity but I took the cover off so the humidity can drop to 60% ish.
Honestly, I do not have a clue what I am doing. Am I doing everything properly? Ant adjustments I need to do? Should I keep the lid on or off? I mixed the "Hatchrite" and water to 1:1 ration by Weight. I am shooting for a female, so I have the temperature a little higher than 86.

Wow, a new egg! Congrats. I hope someone with experience incubation chimes in soon. I will never breed my sullies. Too many out there already. So, I'll never know the pleasure you're experiencing. But, I share your joy.

I have my russian eggs at about a 60% humidity right now and about 88 degrees. I have left my uncovered, not sure covering them really does much. I have never used hatchrite for mine, I thought that stuff came premixed with water so I would just make sure you dnt notice any sweating on the egg.
Hopefully you'll see some blood veins in a couple weeks so you know everything is going good. Good luck!
