My sweet husband built this for LilGirl (aka Ironman) on Father's Day. Currently I have trellis for a top. We are going to make the permanent top from chicken wire though. It's made from old cedar and untreated wood leftover from our various projects in an L-shape. approximately 6 feet by 2 feet on larger wing and 3 feet by 3 feet on smaller side.
Substrate is organic topsoil, my garden dirt, play sand, and a bit of cypress mulch. Planted it with thyme and hostas because she loves to hang out under these plants, sedum, dandelions, weeds, spider plants, and mallow for food. I have food plants growing in separate containers to refresh as needed. There are two hides, one is a hollow half log and other is built from rock so she can go under or sunbathe on top. She spent two nights out and last night in due to temp. She loves it.
