Sorry this is how it's turned out for you all it's such a shame.

It may not feel like it now but in the brief time you had this little one you gave him a happy, loving and comfortable home, with so much more care and attention then what he was obviously getting before coming to you all and that's the best he could have ever asked for.

I hope you wont beat yourself up about this since you did the very best thing by trying to help him in the first place and sometimes letting them go peacefully at the vets (even if it's not always the choice you want to make) is ultimately better for them in the end even if it hurts us in the process.

I'm very sorry it came to this, but it was the kindest thing to do for the poor little tortoise.

Stick around here, read up on things, then rescue another. You are exactly the kind of person(s) who would be really good tortoise keepers.
