I have a male Russian tortoise now that's about 4 or 5 years old and I was wanting to get a baby male Russian tortoise. I was just wondering if I could put them in the same enclosure or if I would have to separate them because there both males?

The older one is likely to kill the younger one. Tortoises are solitary creatures and do not do well in pairs. Your baby will need its own enclosure and it will also need more humidity and hydration than your adult.

Does that go for all male tortoises? Like what if I got another adult one. Would they like fight because there both males?

Oh yeah, males fight like the Dickens and even if they are not males, torts are better off solitary or separated.

It goes for all pairs. Tortoises are solitary territorial animals. Pairs almost never get a long.
no matter the sex. Groups of 3 or more can work in a very large enclosure.

Okay. Thanks everyone. I didn't know if the fighting went for tortoises too. Thanks for the advice.

Not only to torts of both genders fight and bully , the females are equally territorial, but there are no guarantees on gender until they are quite large. Torts can be "bred to be" male, but short of invasive surgery there is no guarantee.

If YOU want another tort, keep it separately. Your existing tort doesn't like, want or need a friend

As was said torts like lonliness so as to say. They are not in need of anyone's company. So I'd suggest keeping them separated, so as to avoid bullying and fighting.

And a very warm welcome to the forum.
