Very entertaining enclosure. I agree about the guinea pig pen and keeping him out. Also, I wouldn't use the moss, just because it can cause impactions.
The GPS is perfectly fine, just don't let the tape attach to the growth lines in-between the scutes.

I absolutely love his enclosure, to me it looks like an abandoned village in the forest. And guinea pigs pen is nice!
Maybe you can fence some yard area outside the "main enclosure" for Hewlett and add some cat tunnels there? My redfoot loves them too.

How long GPS tracker battery lasts? If he escapes, he can stay in hides or burrowed much of the time so tracker should work for a couple of days at least.

As for the moss - long-stranded types (like Sphagnum) can cause impactions when eaten or tangle around limbs. However, I'm less concerned about short-stranded live moss. What kind do you use?
