I finally got my temperature controller but I dont have any instructions! I can figure out where you plug the light into and how to control the temps but there is a little thing with a suction cup, what is it? Thanks!

Can you give a link to the unit you bought? It sounds like you got a thermometer instead of a thermostat, so it tells you the temp not controls it.

Matt ....depending on your unit ...a thermostat will have two componants. The main unit and the actual " temp probe" .....the unit itself can and should be mounted on the outside of your setup . The "probe" ( pencil looking item , with suction cup) is to be placed in the desired area of the tank ( section cup is used to stick unit on the glass) ( hanging it will give you a more accurate reading , as the unit will not pickup the heat from the glass) The probe connects to the main unit. Plug unit in and set to desired temps " cutt off and on times" . Say for your RF ..... 70's is low and 90 high ....

JD~:)

For a hatchling, I usually have air temperatures at a minimum of 80ºF on the cool end and a maximum of 85ºF on the warm end. When the thermostat kicks them on, directly beneath the CHE's it's about 93ºF.

Keeping them a bit warmer than an adult helps to circumvent illness.
