no vertebral scutes

isnt it just a mutation, could be from high incubation or something, they only had one, and i think who ever got that guy has a really rare looking guy.

OH WOW,
I wonder if that will effect the growth of the tortoise. I love the look though, I agree that if I had the money I would buy it right now :D Beautiful.

It actually has 2 vertebral scutes :D, the first and the fifth. That is most likely a genetic abnormality, as it's symetrical.
The number and size of the scutes will have nothing to do with how well the tortoises bones grow underneath the scutes. With a good diet it will just be a nice domed tortoise with less scutes than normal.

Isn't he simply beeeee-utiful! Having him/her would just want you to try breeding to see what would happen. :( If I did that, I'd have to be ducking as Yvonne threw sulcata dung at me for breeding them. :rolleyes::D
