Help!!! My Russian tortoise has an outdoor enclosure but I only keep him in there in the day but whenever I don’t put him in there immediately in the morning he starts walking into the wall and it’s very very loud. Why is he doing this? And how do I make him stop?

I have also a russian that does the same. My conclusion is that they are just very curious animals and love to explore. I try to offer new things to keep him entertained in his enclosure.

I have the same problem with a 10 pound male leopard tortoise. I bring all of my tortoises inside the house every night for safety. I have a gardener, person that cleans up dog messes, kids come thru my back yard to go fishing and I am really worried someone is going to steal them.
So when I wake up a bit late and don’t get them outside immediately the big male literally tries to climb out of his pen, paces and bumps the walls and generally has zero patience to get outside.
It was funny for awhile, now just annoying. But it is his personality, so ok.
