Sorry to say I went home for lunch today and the little guy passed away, he seemed like he was getting better. I want to thank everyone for their help. I learned more from your posts than any book. I am going to looks for a breeder in the Midwest or possibly see if anyone needs a good home for a tortoise they can't take care of any more.if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks again
John

Sorry for your loss. When tortoises get ill they are often slow to show it. The healing process is equally slow. Again, I am sorry that you had to lose your pet this way.

I am really sorry that you lost him :(
Like someone else said baby sullies can sometimes take a while before they really start to show that they are very sick and by then its usually too late. It's usually dehydration or lack of UVB that gets them sadly
Im so sorry

John I am so sorry. I know how heart breaking it is to loose a pet but especially one you have worked so hard to nurture an save. You will find a new one in time when it is right.. Good luck!

Don't know what to say about the jaw but sulcatas are know to get a little dormant this time of year so not to worry however do make sure its warm enough. Also try a change of scenery every so often by taking a trip to the yard for a few hours. This rejuvenates the tortoise and gives them a chance to explore a bit. Make sure its in the sun or has a heat lamp if you live in cold weather.
