Just a question, does any1 oil their torts shell?? Ive heard you can but it's not a must? If so, what with?

I prefer to not add any topicals to my tortoise's shell. In my opinion you pave the way for dirt to adhere to the shell and cause overheating. All I do is wash them off with a soft brush and clear water.

Just depends on your preference, I use vita shell, every 2 weeks. You can use oil, aloe Vera. Or just plain water. Others will chime in with their suggestions...

Yeah no, I would not put any oily substance whatsoever on the shell of a tort.....no need...remember--they are earth loving critters, a little dust and dirt makes a happy tort...;)

A gentle brushing with plain warm water is good if you absolutely find it necessary...lol
