"old" uvb lights

amazon screwed up when shipping me a uvb light and accidentally gave me two which is great, but I'm just wondering if the uvb lights will degrade over time if I'm not using it. I'm only going to be using one of them for 6 months and then I was planning on switching over to the other one amazon gave me, I'm not sure if this is okay -- will it still emit proper amounts of uvb?

I don't see why not. They sit on amazon for who knows how long, or any other place that is selling them. They don't make them to order.

I would make sure they both work before you store the one away.
