Do sulatas stop eating for a time after they travel? I have had to travel with Omega 2 times now and he hasnt been eating anything more than a nibble. I keep reading how when yall put a handful of good weeds in, your sullies eat it right up. Well omega just looks at it. I know he has eaten a little but nothing like I would expect. Is he just getting used to his new home? He is very active and stomps around his tank all day, when he isn't in his humid hide.

What are you offering him? Maybe he doesn't like the food you are offering him. Try packaged Spring Mix and some other dark leafy greens and see if he eats them...When you travel with him is he in a dark quiet box? He should be kept dark when traveling. In a container barely bigger than him...

I.have offered mauzari*, spring mix, dandilion, grass, and a tiny bit of lettuce. He is done traveling now hopefully forever but he was in a closed box that may have been
a bit too big. I'm hopping that he will start soon. its only been about 5 days and I know he has eaten enough to poop once. I may just be over reacting.

Give us more info on your setup and your four temps. Warm side, cool side, hot spot, and night.

Are you using one of those coil florescent bulbs? How about one of those infra red bulbs?

There is a reason he's not eating and we need to find it. Usually its temps or lighting. How old is he and how big?

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to yall, Omega started eating today! Yes Tom I had one of those coil bulbs, I know I know. It is gone now and he the little guy is starting to take clumsy big bites of his food. Does it take them a while to get 'good' at eating?

A little info, he has a basking spot of 105 f a humid hide a dry hide and the rest of the enclosure is around 80 f. I soak him 2-3 times a day in warm water with a bulb above him to make sure the water stays warm for the full soak. I try to keep the humidity up around 70% but it sometimes drops a little low. He is eating spring mix, and grass with the occasional Mazurazi mixed in.

Thanks for all the help guys, oh and his shell now has that good 'hard plastic' feel to it all over. And Omega is about 2.3 inches and I 'think' about 2 months old. I don't have a scale sensitive enough to weigh him, but I'm looking for a mail scale.

Your temps sound good. Don't stress too much about the humidity as long as there is a proper humid hide box.

I usually soak mine once a day. If they are outside in the hot sun all day, I'll usually soak them a second time, but usually once a day is enough. More won't hurt anything though...

I don't know a nice way to tell you this, but he's probably "clumsy" around the food because those coil bulbs damage their eyes. Hopefully its minor and his eyes will heal up. Sorry...

You can get a kitchen gram scale at Walmart or Target pretty cheap.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks Tom. I only had him under the coils for a few days so I really hope he isnt permanently injured from it.

I'd cut the food up some for him. Most keepers don't do it, but omega is a baby and so if he were mine I would cut his food up some, especially since he's having a hard time eating. Cutting it won't hurt anything and it will help...
