My big sulcata was spoiled by his previous owner with lots of squash and zucchini. He will graze on grass but he refuses to eat cactus pads. Ive also tried feeding him tort lasagna and 'mush' but he's very finicky.

Today I used an apple corer to punch a hole down the center of a squash. Then, I used the same corer to punch lots of little cactus disks and pushed the discs into the middle of the squash.

To my delight, Amun ate every last bite. Hopefully he'll acquire a taste for it and I don't have to sneak it in a squash every time.

That's great! It's nice when you can trick your torts into eating the natural stuff.

Thats the way to do it and once he gets the taste of the other stuff then you won't have to do that...

Impressive idea! You can try the immature cactus pads once he has a taste.. the baby pads RV treats like candy. Can't seem to get her fill, which is good - we've a lot of growth needs thinning.
