I have not built my outdoor enclosure yet (where he will be spending most of the day) but we have two decks both decks are painted and im not sure what kind of paint it is so im a little worried about letting him walk around there. its not peeling or bubbled in any spots so should i worry? i take koopa out there every day for a soak in the sunshine but when i have to empty the tub and replace the water he has a obsession with walking around out there (just cant get him to stay on the towel for even a second) i know he needs that sun but the best i can do for the next few weeks is bring him out for nice long soaks. i would love to let him run around out there just to give him some extra time in the sun and not have to be stuck in a little tub while out enjoying the sunshine...
if spray down the whole deck and make sure there is no little things he could try to eat would he be okay to be out there (obviously supervised) for a little while every day?

The deck is probably fine, but I'd worry about overheating. Why not build him an enclosure on the dirt with plants and lots of shady areas?

oh i will, like i said the enclosure isnt built yet :) but just for the time being i at least want him to be able to enjoy the sun not stuck in his soaking bin. if its okay to have him out there supervised ill have some shade in a bunch of different areas while we are out there (the side of the deck closest to the house always creates some shade. glad to hear that will work for now until we can build him a safe place out there.
