Pale Shell

Hi, Can anyone tell me why my tortoises shell is turning pale ? he/ she is still eating well and lively !

Could it be marbling? Could it be from an incorrect light and UV combo? What substrate are you using and what is your humidity level? (It looks like rabbit pellets in the photo)

We're going to have to have more information...like what kind of tortoise is it? Do you keep it outside? How old is it? And maybe give us a picture of the tortoise.

I have a horsefield tortoise, think maybe male about 3 years old, the bedding is ( aspen )
