I got Paxton 1 year ago yesterday. When I received him, he weighed 15 grams...

Today Paxton is 228 grams.. is that a "normal" box turtle weight gain in 1 year? I know they are all different but it seems like a lot.

Still so cute šŸ„°

I have no idea of a number that's good for weight gain. I just know, that as long as they have proper space, Heat, uvb, etc, and fed an appropriate diet, and consistently gain weight, then it's a good thing and they won't get over weight.

That sure is one cool looking turtle you have.

I meant to look at Matilda's weight chart to let you know what she weighed at one year but I forgot, I think that you're doing pretty good though since she just broke 300 G and she's over 3 years old

If you get a chance to look at Matilda's chart I would like to know. Paxton eats well, but can still close up in his shell. šŸ¤£šŸ¢ Thank you

Matilda's weight. she was 9 grams when she came home in 6/20 and we think that she was prob born 2-3 weeks at most by then.
6-20-21 she weighed 74g
7-8-22 she weighed 162g
6-23-23 she weighed 288g

and on 10-21-23 she weighed in at 295g

I'm trying not to be concerned about Paxton's weight because all turtles are different. I'm hoping it's because he is a desert box turtle... However I believe that is wishful thinking šŸ¤£. I'm just grateful that Paxton eats, apparently a lot, and is active. Thank you for the information.
