Pink usually is an infection. My tortoise had pink like that following surgery when she was little to remove a stone she had swallowed. The vet said the pink was indicative of infection and I had to give her antibiotic injections. It may not be infection with yours but I would certainly get a vet to check them over. Hope your tortoise keeps well.
Thanks for your response. I will take to the vets next week. I noticed some more red around the sides of her shell that show when I turn her over but the disappear when I put her down. Could it be because of new growth as she is growing more shell around the side? Many thanksPink usually is an infection.
I was hoping by now that someone with experience in this matter would confirm it.
My suggestion is to take this tortoise to a vet that specializes in tortoises soon.
Just to be safe
Assuming the tortoise is acting and eating normally, the pink areas are probably just heavily vascularized areas of new growth as you surmised above. Thanks for your response.
