Looking for opinions. Ordered the cage custom online. It's 5"×3" has heat and uv lamps on a timer. 3/4 of the bedding is coconut fiber and the last 1/4 is soil and rocks where we grow kale, dandelions, wild flowers, and mustards.

The cage gets to about 90° in the day and 70° at night. I can get the humidity as high as 50%

Welcome to the Forum. Lots of info on here to read and use. You might want to wet down your substrate, it looks pretty dry.

Good luck.

Looks small, but great. You should cover up atleast 3in of the doors so the rt cannot see outward.

Looks nice. However, an adult Russian needs at the minimum a 4x8 foot. They cover lots of ground in the wild even though they are small. I'm sure you can add onto one end though.

Oh, unless this is only for nights and a few winter months and he has an outdoor enclosure for the warm months then you can get by with this.
