Found this in an area I had seeded with either grazing or browsing mix. Might just be part of the lawn too. Anyone recognize it as edible? I've never fed this before. Not the clover or dandelion but the broad leafed plant at center.image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

It looks like it's in the dandelion family, but I really don't recognise it. Dandelion has more points on the leaves, not smooth like this.

I think we are seeing a few dandelion flowers poking up through the broad-leaf plant. Find the dandelion and feed that.

Dandelions are in full bloom here, much to the neighbors' chagrin I'm sure. I could go overboard feeding that, there are so many. The idea here is to identify what else I can feed! The plant in question is not flowering. Not sure that's even its mature foliage. Weeds just bounced back here from the winter about a month ago. I've got the red and white clovers, narrow and broad-leaved plantains, thistles, strawberry, grape, mulberry, alfalfa, and-yes-dandelions down as far as naturally-occurring weeds. These are all up and growing this spring and I recognize their leaves.

The seed mixes I used contained the following:
Primrose, Stinging Nettle, Rose Mallow, Milk Thistle, Red Russian Kale, Alfalfa, Purple Coneflower, Dandelions, Chicory (Dandelion Greens), Mallow, Golden Purslane, Crimson clover, White clover, Dichondra, Echinacea, Cornflowers, Daisies and Petunias.

So it could be one of those or something else entirely. I didn't start with entirely bare ground but I still doubt it's something I didn't plant there because I don't notice it in other parts of the yard.
