The one with the round leaves and white flowers is chick weed and it's edible. I'm not sure what the other one is. It sort of looks like a member of the mustard family. If that's the "kale" you're growing, I don't think it is.
That's strange, I had a packet of kale seeds and that's what grew... Is it all edible and good for George?
Can you give me ideas of all things that are good for him? I want to grow lots of fresh greens
Kale looks very similar to mustard greens when still young. I label my cups for this reason. In any case, the kale (or mustard) and the chickweed are both edible. My reds love chickweed and it's usually one of the first things gone off the plate, but that's just their preference. There are many, many good choices to grow/feed. Broadleaf plantains, dandelion, clover, etc. are good weeds. Grape leaves, hibiscus leaves and flowers, escarole and endive are great as calcium greens.
