I've never seen that large a discharge of urates. It does have a not normal look to it.

Thank you guys .. I am going to take him to the vet ..the picture I showed you guys with the sample dried up completely that night. It lost 90 percent of its mass when it dried out and dried a weird hazy light red. I knew something wasn't right... $ is of no concern. I'll see what's up . I will also suspend the ad mix herbal hey from tortoise supply until I know.

I'd recommend sending this sample to get a histopath done it. Looks like intestines pieces. These can be seen with nasty forms of coccidia literally eating the inside of the liver, kidneys, and colon out. A fecal should be done and PCR analysis of your tortoises cloaca. Keep in mind that this will cost you a couple hundred dollars to get done.

So you recommend fecal sample taken and a check to see if he has tortoise herpes?

I am going this morning asap. I found something else this is disturbing me too .. what does a calcium stone look like for a tortoise ... like are version of kidney stone.. I found this in his habitat and it looks like a super hard calcium ball no idea where it would of come from

Herpes won't do this. After finding that stone I'd get an X-ray.

So I will be glad to inform everyone that his xray came up negative for kidney stones or any other tortoise issue , blood work is negative, urinalysis is negative, stool sample is negative . And physical examination he is perfectly healthy and active . Eyes good, mouth/beak, etc.. they said it was probably just dehydration for the stone .. and just a heavy deposit for the calcium .. but they couldn't find anything soo .. he will be just fine thank you all for your input. As this site proves to be more irreplaceable in terms of knowledge and collective information.

There is no dandelion in the herbal hay, right? Or it may be something internal with the tortoise.

There is dandelion in the herbal hay (maybe 5-7%), but dandelion isn't the problem. We sell and use straight dandelion, and we use it a lot fresh and dried; it's one of the best single items you can offer a tortoise.

To me this just looks like heavy urates, nothing more.

I appreciate how all kind you are . I just hope this experiencee can add to collective knowledge of a forum like this and help others. The fact I can use this forum to help weigh importat decisions with the care of my tortoise does give me a certain type of security . I appreciate what is done here big or small.
