My 3 mo old desert tortoise has a strand of tissue hanging out of its bottom!! My vet is only in on certain days. He won't be in till Friday. What should I do until then?

Until you can give us a pic, make sure whatever it is stays moist. Put him in a warm soak until you can get a pic and get it posted and someone can confirm what it is and what too do. Good luck, hope all turns out okay.

Here is a pic. It started out as a long strand and now looks like a bubble. I will put him on a moist paper towel (I gave him a soak) until I know what to do. I would have to research for another vet.

It looks too me like some mucus. I would soak him a little longer and see if he poops the rest of it out. See what others have to say.

Okay I will soak him some more as see if it improves. I am freaking out. Thank you for any suggestions.

It looks like part of the bubble has gone back into the cloaca? Is this normal??

It looks like a jelly type substance. He keeps making a squishing noise as well :(

I would have a stool sample done for parasites. I personally do not think its a prolapse and it does not look like any that has been posted on here.
