please help

I have posted a this in another location, but figured I would get this out there some more... for more responses...

Hi everyone!
I am new to the site. I have a 6 1/2 yr old male Sulcate named Norm that I have had since he was just a few months old. He is great!! He is healthy, strong and always ready to eat.
I am taking classes on-line at WGU and am writing a research paper on my little (ok, not quite little anymore) guy. One of the requirements for the class is to conduct a survey or interview and use the results in my paper. Since I do know quite a bit about my tort, I am having a little problem figuring out what to do the survey on - or finding someone to interview...
If you have any other ideas, please let me know otherwise, I have decided to conduct a survey....

What is you tort's favorite thing to eat?

Norm LOVES strawberries (but gets them rarely)
his next favorite is romane lettuce and yellow squash.

I could cover the whole yard in strawberries, hibiscus, banannas, mangos, and papypas and if the dog squatted in the middle, my RFs would trample all fruits to get to that spot. I beleive torts receive benefical bacteria from this behaviour but not from carnivour feces but from herbivour (much more common in wild). No matter how you look at it, it still assaults our sensitiveties.

My Hingebacks all vote worms as their favorite food item (as do the Boxies and all the turtle species I have). The Russians and Redfoots all seem to have hibiscus flowers as their number one food to inhale.

My Sandy Sulcata's favorite is hibiscus flowers. Gertie & Gracie Gopher's favorite is corn on the cob. Robby Redfoot's favorite is kiwi. Sammy & Sara Sulcata's favorite is dandelion greens. Roger, Rita, & Rhonda Russian's favorite is collard greens. Lucas & Libby Leopard's favorite is romaine lettuce. And Billie Box's favorite is mealworms.

I am so glad none of mine so far is eating poop. I clean the corrals out every morning tho. They really should not eat dog poop. It is an excellent way for them to get hook worms, as well as the wrong kind of bacteria.

Let them eat their own poop gang! It's the best "additive/supplement" there is. By not doing so.. you are depriving them BIG time. I couldn't be more serious!!!

yesterday I gave 2 little mini pieces of red pepper to Hermy and she went crazy. Conclusion: she loves cactus pears and red peppers!

So far everyone is giving great answers!! Thanks to everyone that has participated - and for those who are stll posting - I am still researching, and it seems that a lot of people are getting cool ideas for food from this site. I just bought a house and there are hibiscus plants in front of my house. I went out and cut one off, washed it off and Norm LOVED it!!! - Good thing I ran out of Miricle Grow before I got to the front of the house Now Normandy has a new food added to the top of his favorites!!

When you clean out substrat of tort put that on your plants and jump back. Great fertilizer and organic too.

Our yearling sulcata loves hibiscus flowers and actually really enjoys his mazuri tortoise pellets (that's what it was raised on)
