It's that time of year here in GA when the pollen is falling and everything is yellow. You can literally see it in the air. It causes a lot of allergies for many people. We're supposed to have warm weather today. Does anyone know if the tortoises are bothered by pollen? Should I keep them inside till the pollen stops falling? I think the main ones are Pine, Birch, Oak, and Sweetgum.IMG_20200327_071608495.jpgIMG_20200327_071544492.jpg

No idea Todd but that is intense! How long does it last for?
It usually lasts for about 2 weeks in the beginning of spring. I think I've decided to keep them in. If it's not good for us to breathe it can't be good for them. I took another pic to show ya how bad it gets lolIMG_20200327_094446777.jpg

Holy smokes! I know a few people that really wouldn’t do well in GA right now. Is it all from the same tree/plant? It must really want to reproduce

I believe it's from several different species of trees, mostly pine though.

We get that here sometimes too. Its no problem for the tortoises. Wild animals don't get "allergies" like domestics or we do. Natural selection precludes it. Our tortoises are still considered wild animals and not domesticated.

It's really bad this year. Maybe because of all the rain we've had.

They're definitely carrying it around because everything outside is coated in it.
