There is what i think a 7 year old russain in my local pet shop, he is male and being kept in a tank with two Iguana's. When i go in a see him he never has food to graze or water to drink, there is a uvb lamp, but no basking light and there in one shelter for him to hide, nobody wants to buy him, but i do and would concider it a rescue mission, but how easy are these to keep?

They are one of the easiest, if not the easiest tortoises for folks to keep usually.

Rosiee, If I'm not mistaken you have Hermans Correct? Russians take I believe about the same food and care as a Hermans. With only a few minor tweeks. They have great personalites. If you talk with the manager he may make you a good deal if this little one has not sold in some time, can't hurt. Just remember if you "Rescue" it to keep it seperate from you Herman. Here is a site that can help. http://www.russiantortoise.org/
