I’m wondering if these little reddish/brown markings above either eye are possible burns. I was away for a day and someone left the AC off in the house so when I returned home the temperatures in the enclosure were from 90 on the cool end to 107 on the basking end. My tortoise was buried in his hide and in a panic I opens the doors to cool it down and tugged at his foot to make sure he was well, he pulled away from me so I was relieved and left him to sleep.
The next morning when he came out of his hide I noticed some reddish brown spots above each eye. I’m wondering if this could possibly be a burn?
I have given him many soaks and he is eating, pooping, peeing and his usual active self.
This was last weekend but the spots are still there.
Does this look like anything to anyone?

Those temperatures are not dangerous. It gets well over 90 where they come from too. Just a hot summer day. If the whole enclosure was 107, it would be a problem.

The marks on the side of the face look like abrasions from rubbing on something, not burns.

That’s a bit of a relief, I guess now I just have to figure out what he could have rubbed against. Luckily his larger enclosure is being completed soon.
Thank you
