I got an insulated truck body with an aluminum floor. It used to have a refrigeration unit on it, so is well insulated on all sides. Side doors and full back door. It will be my 50lb sulcata winter home. It’s 24’ long and I can put a partition in so as not to heat the whole thing. I intend on heating it with a propane ventless wall mounted unit. Would there be any concerns in this type of heat?

Sounds like that could work well for you. The propane heater will work if electricity is an issue. However, heating the whole 200 sq ft at 7 ft tall to 80°+ minimum might get a bit expensive. If it were me, I would heat the whole unit to the low 70°s and partition off a very small portion with lower ceiling to make a night box in the unit, heated to the 81° minimum. Create a mini greenhouse inside the entire unit with good full spectrum lighting and basking lights on timers. This would give a larger outdoor like space when there are days too cold to go outside, and the night box to keep minimum body temps up at night. That way you can reduce the heating requirement on the entire unit by about 10° while keeping the night box above 81° constantly.

Could be a great setup. Keep us posted with lots of pictures.

What should I use to heat the smaller box?
Man it was a chore getting it off the trailer. It weighs about 10k pounds How about what to put on the floor? Cypress mulch?
