The weather cooperated and my babies were able to get some sunshine, a good long soak, and some TLC from the food god. But while handling Freckles, she seems...puffy? Swollen? A little fat? (Is that even possible?)
Let me know what you think. She is 14-15 months old and as you can see bright eyed and alert. She eats great and is active.

Looks normal to me.
I sure hope so. The other three are more concave in their soft tissue areas around their front legs and neck but Freckles just seemed puffy to me today. I hope I'm being overly watchful and it's my imagination. Lol.

Especially during the winter when it gets very dry it's important to keep hydrated animals. This would be normal as dry as it's been to see water being retained, especially after a soak and a very cold spell we just went through with heaters blaring. Ambient pressures and moisture drops significantly. Even in a closed chamber the ambient moisture is much much lower.

Don't worry, your worrying :) your little guys are just fine.

I am going to go against the herd. While the tortoise does indeed look good, it does appear a tad puffy to me mainly in the neck area, that being said, I wouldn't start worying, unless her appetite changes, or stops going to the bathroom. And yes tortoises can get faat, just not easy to do.

She is eating well and acting normal. I saw her poop yesterday evening and she pooped a ton this afternoon again. So all of that is a-okay.

I have seen this before. I was given 2 Leopards (they were about 6 months) that both had this. It was almost like their neck area was blown up with air. We never figured out what it was. I didn't think it was"fat". More like air pockets almost. i could even see it when the tort would go in its shell. Keep an eye on him. GOOD OBSERVATION. Franklin ' shell looks great BTW.
