wel obviously it's October today. Which indeed comes with saying. Pumpkin season and the ripe ones are good for picking. My food supplier gave me some not so normal species of pumpkin. So I figured I'd try them out amongst the shelled guys. Surprisingly kinixys were the most favorable to consume the enchanted pumpkins. These are the white ones in the photo of the wagon. The one with wart looking things are called knuckleheads, and of course your typical jack pumpkin. The biggest most favored ones (especially by the Aldabras and big torts) are not quite ripe yet. I forget the specie name but they're heirloom Giants and get about 80-150 pounds.
Here's the 3 species I fed.
Kinixys erosa loving the enchanted pumpkin.
Kinixys homeana
pancakes loved it too.
