To be perfectly honest with you, I don't know what causes those thick growth rings on a very young baby. Usually pyramiding is when the scute raises, which means the growth is more shallow. Do you keep the baby in a moist/humid environment?

I think over feeding causes them to grow rapidly causing whats on the picture right now. Just my thoughts... I would love to hear every bodies opinion on this.

Thanks for the reply Yvonne. Yes, i try to keep it between 30%-60% humidity and 50% over night. I soak him everyday aswell!

I did read up on this from somewhere too and wasnt quite sure. There are just so many possible factors and causes for pyramiding!

Hatchlings and juveniles typically don't become obese but turn the excess food into increased growth. This rapid growth may be unhealthy growth that leads to shell deformities.

It seems you're over-feeding him. Pyramiding shouldn't happen at all, but as long and you keep him healthy/moist and hydrated he should be okay there.
