So lately Steve's mouth has looked a bit weird to me so I took a closer look and snapped some photos. Please let me know if I'm just seeing things or if there's something wrong. The area I'm looking at is right in the corner of his mouth (sorry for photo quality, it's hard to get him so close up).

Is it the small bulge on the right side corner of his mouth that are concerned about? I think that's what I'm seeing in the photograph, though I have to admit it's hard to tell. Anyhow, If that is what I'm seeing, it could be shedding.

Cool. Yeah, it's the thing that shows up more on the left (Steve's left) side of the mouth, looks like either a little scabby or just some shedding (like you suggested). Was just worried because I've read a lot about the mouth rot and this crazy tortoise herpes thing  on the threads and just wanted to make sure that's not what I was seeing. Probably going to take him into the vet here in a while just to make sure he's staying healthy this winter. Will have that checked out at that time if it persists.

Thanks :)! Seems like I just can't get away from the poo eaters! Lol. I have a rescued dachshund mix that eats poo like candy and now Steve the poo eating tortoise (although, I haven't seen him actually eat any and usually spot clean before he has a chance, but what goes on during the hours I'm not home is anyone's guess).
