Hello! I have been a tortoise owner for a little over 9 months. Always learning more and expanding my knowledge! I started with Lakoda as a hatchling and have watched him thrive and grow so much! A month ago I purchased another leopard tortoise as a rescue. He showed signs of metabolic bone disease, with very excessive pyramiding for such a little guy. I'm doing my best with recovery for him and after a month he is showing good signs of recovery to have a healthier life ahead of him. I keep theses guys in separate enclosures that are attached by a small opening that has rocks. Shadow tends to not want to eat alone and always clears the rocks to get to Lakodas. I typically let him climb over to the other enclosure for exercise and he also eats way more in the presence of another tort. Lakoda most of the time is chill with Shadow when he comes over.... Only little signs of aggression when Shadow sticks his head right into Lakoda's personal space lol.

My question is should I allow Shadow to continue to eat with Lakoda for the added good "stress" that makes him eat more?

I also have one more baby coming... Just waiting to pick him up this Thursday or Friday. Once I have this third leopard tortoise should I open up my enclosures all the way since it's a group? Or keep the smaller torts together until they are a little bigger to open it up?

All thoughts welcomed! Here are some pictures! Of the 2 enclosures that are attached with some pics of my guys this morning getting up.

it’s not really showing how it looks like... those type of UVB Bulbs damage the Tortoises eye, you should change it something like Zoo Med ReptiSun T8 10.0 UVB Lamp
