should i try not to provide a hide that my tort cannot turn around in? are they comfortable walking backwards? it sounds silly, but i thought she may not use them if she had to back out....or is that how burrows work? in the wild, do they usually choose hides big enough to escape from or just for the comforting darkness and snugly feeling?

I like my torts to be able to turn around in the hides.

I remember reading about the natural sulcata burrow in Tom's pen. He had "someone skinny" as he put it go down there to temp and found passing lanes throughout the tunnel. I think in the wild a tort would want to be able to come out of the burrow not in reverse. Especially since they would even create passing lanes ;)

From what I have read over the last year plus, they should be able to turn around.

thanks for the replies. i figured as much but thought I'd ask just in case, because that would open up a lot of different hide options. i wouldn't want top back out either :p
