I can't say 100 percent but usually if a flower of a plant is ok, then the leaves are usually fine. I know rose petals are fine so I would say the leaves are fine but to be honest they look like they would be a little tough to eat, on my plants the leaves are kinda pokey. I looked at toxic lists and neither show up, so I would say they should be safe.

Mine love them, I feed the newer growth that is a little reddish, it's much softer! I still chop up the little guys' food, I have not tried feeding a whole leaf. Just make sure that no one has used a systemic fertilizer or pesticide on the bush!

Yes. They are fine. Just make sure they have no pesticides on OR in them. A lot of nurseries are growing them with systemic pesticide/fertilizer mixes and it can take up to a year for them to be safe to eat. I feed mine out of rose bushes that have been established for years.
